The Hidgit Leveling Feet are easy to use! Here is our recommended procedure:
1. Thread all the Contact Pads (thingies with the yellow covers) all the way down until they stop against the locknut (*don't ever adjust this nut). Now all the feet are the same length.
2. With your workpiece located where you will be pouring the resin, place the feet under the four corners so you can still reach them with your fingers.
3. Place a level on the top of your workpiece (you might want to cover the contacting surface with masking tape to protect your art). Working diagonally, corner-to-corner, locate the low corners(s).
4. Place a finger in the grooves of the knob under the Contact Pads on the top to hold it still (it should have some grip on the workpiece to help) and rotate the Base to lengthen the stand and raise the corner.
5. Optional- If you are going to working on the piece doing something that might shift it around, like removing a resin dam, use masking tape to stick the Bases down to your work surface to help keep them in place (the acetal base is slippery).
6. Work your way around the four corners until the workpiece is satisfactorily level.
7. Squeeze/flex soft rubber Contact Pad to remove hardened resin.
Tip 1- Don't try to adjust the locknut. These are stoppers used to help you return the feet to the same length without having to think about it.
Tip 2- The Contact Pads can completely unscrew. Don't take them all the way off or work with them at the end of their adjustment. You should only need a little adjustment to get your workpiece level.
