This is much more than a plastic tube to slip over a standard 9-inch paint roller frame. It's made from "Delrin" (aka- Acetal), which is some pretty awesome stuff. It is durable and very slippery stuff, so almost nothing sticks to it, including most adhesives used to stick a poster on some plywood. And that is really helpful in case you happen to accidentally pick up some adhesive when rolling, because it won't stick the roller to your work (you should have a protective layer between your art and roller). If something sticky does get on it, just let it dry and wipe it right off (or wipe it wet). Opposite a soft rubber or silicone brayer, that could push-and-pull on the paper it contacts, this hard Delrin material will slide over paper even if you pull it at an off-angle from your roller direction. That is super handy when rolling artwork onto backers, as it will prevent you accidently shifting the piece around on the backer you are mounting it too. And it's big! So you can roll out large format work much faster. The edges of the roller are rounded/softened to prevent putting indentation lines into the paper. Because the surface repels almost anything you can throw at it, this is great for almost any large gluing project. Simply slip this snug fitting tube over any standard 9-inch paint roller frame (not included) and voilĂ , it's ready to use!
