Plain Speak: We are going to spend a little time here because this is one thing that we feel is important. We hope that everything we sell will meet your expectations in terms of quality and service life. But surely, that won't be the case all the time. Things happen and nothing is indestructible. And most importantly, everyone's expectations are different. I have personally been stiffed on multiple warranty claims on big ticket items from major brand companies on things like grills and mattresses when it was blatantly obvious that the product did not meet the explicit guarantee. I even took a mattress company (who shall remain anonymous) to small claims court (and won). It's infuriating to deal with companies that don't keep their word. Hidgit won't be that company. Conversely, do you have a serial returner and warranty claimer in your family that abuses any "lifetime satisfaction" guarantee they have? I do. That's also infuriating for the company providing products and services. Specifically, Sears took it in the teeth for years with their tools and LL Bean also had to address the widespread abuse of their return policy.
Have you seen the scene in Tommy Boy where Chris Farley lays out the "Fancy Guarantee" argument (you should because it's hysterical)? Well that is the approach we are going to take for now. We are small enough to treat every customer with some degree of individual attention at this point. If something goes wrong with your product and you are unsatisfied, just reach out to us and let us know what happened at [email protected]. We care about our products and reputation and always want to make things better. So, we might ask you to send us some pictures and a description of how the product broke so that we can improve it. No matter what, we will take a reasonable approach and work with you to find a solution that would satisfy a reasonable person. If you aren't a reasonable person, than expect to be frustrated as you surely are with everything else in the world.
